          Fondée en 1824 par Alexander Reid, The Macallan est l'une des distilleries de whisky les plus renommées d'Écosse. La qualité d'un whisky dépend en grande partie de celle de ses fûts. La robe et les arômes du single malt résultent essentiellement du bois avec lequel ils sont affinés. La distillerie Macallan apporte un soin particulier à la préparation des fûts, de leur fabrication en Espagne jusqu'à leur arrivée dans la cave. Ce single malt est vieilli pendant 12 années en fûts de sherry.
