This 63-ha vineyard is in the Grand-Poujeaux area, at Moulis-en-Médoc to the north-east of Bordeaux. It was purchased by Roger and André Dourthe, proud descendants of a great line of wine-makers dating back to the reign of Louis Philippe. Philippe Dourthe, 5th generation, passed the torch to his three children in 2007. The vines are cultivated on a land of blue and pink Graves pebbles, from the Garonne. The estate's wines are often those from the "classified" areas of Saint-Julien and Margaux.

    Tasting notes

The bouquet reveals raspberry, blackcurrant, blueberry and cherry aromas. These are joined by subtle touches of toast, cocoa, mocha and liquorice. Juicy and silky on the palate, with a delicate texture. Ripe and supple tannins give this wine a lovely structure and a long, elegant finish.
