The estate was established in 1956 at Gevrey-Chambertin, famous cru from the north of Bourgogne. Charles Mortet had, at the time, only 1 ha of vines. Faithful to Bourgogne tradition, he sold most of his production to a wine trader. At 22 years of age, Denis and his wife, Laurence, joined the family estate. Little by little, they began to commercialise their own wines. In 1993, Denis definitively took over his father's vineyard and changed the name to Domaine Denis Mortet. Thanks to their enthusiastic work, they have slowly expanded the property from 4.5 to more than 11 ha. They have vines in Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny and Vougeot, divided between various climates and Premier Crus. Arnaud joined his father in 2000 and became the new owner five years later.

    Tasting notes

The vintage "Mes Cinq Terroirs" comes from five different parcels: Motrot, En Champs, Combe de Dessus, Au Vellé and En Derée. The juicy, fresh bouquet opens with freshly picked wild strawberries and raspberries. This makes way for a good level of minerality, giving it a lovely, acidic touch. Delicious and crisp on the palate, it elegantly extends over tonic, delicate tannins for a fruity finish.
