At first called Château Haut-Truchon, the estate was re-named Château Bouscaut by the Chabanneau family, at the time of their purchase in 1881. It is located at Cadaujac, at the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, close to the town of Bordeaux. In 1925, Victor Place and the Comte de Rivaud took it over. Four years later they expanded into the neighbouring property of Château Valoux. The estate became a Graves Cru Classé in 1953. They decided to sell the property, in 1968, to a group of New York investors. They confided the management to Madame Delmas, wife of the Director of Château Haut-Brion. In 1999, Château Bouscaut acquired the property of Lamothe-Bouscaut, which it had exploited under a rental agreement since the '40s. Today it is owned by Sophie and Laurent Cogombles.

    Tasting notes

"Les Chênes de Bouscaut" is the second wine of Château Bouscaut - a Graves Cru Classé It has an elegant bouquet of, mainly, well-ripened black cherries. Subtle notes of pepper blend in and spice it up. Supple and delicious on the palate, a lovely fabric of silky tannins finishes on slightly woody, delicate spices.
