The Clos first saw the light of day in 1895, at the north-east of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, in the municipality of Courthézon. Elie Dussaud, who loves the area, decided to build this magnificent home and dig an underground cellar. In 1955, Paul Pouizin, a wine-grower from Visan, purchased the estate for his son, Claude. Today, 54 ha are shared between the Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes du Rhône appellations. In 1996, Claude bequeathed this Clos to his youngest daughter, wife of Sancerre wine-grower Jean-Denis Vacheron. The estate has always been managed on organic. It obtained certification in 2010.

    Tasting notes

This vintage comes from vines cultivated on soils of round pebbles and red clay.As soon as it is opened, a spicy black pepper bouquet is exhales. A variety of red fruit, such as cherry, mingles with the aromas of tobacco leaf and cocoa. Round and silky on the palate, keeping its freshness and elegance despite being a strong vintage. It is a good Côtes du Rhône model, exuding abundant finesse.
