Jean-Richard settle in Gevrey-Chambertin in 1938 in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Bourgogne. His son Henri was one of the first winemakers in Gevrey-Chambertin to sell bottled wines. Today, the estate is succeeded by Richard and Sarah Bastien of the fourth generation. The vines face eastwards, between 250 and 350 metres altitude on clay-limestone subsoil. The estate has been certified in organic agriculture since 2005. Guillaume Berthier, an oenologist engineer, arrived in 2013 and takes care of the cellar and the vineyard.

    Tasting notes

This Burgundy is found on the road of the Grands Crus, between the villages of Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-St Denis. A complex, distinguished bouquet exhales fruits like sloe, raspberry and blood orange. Energetic on the palate, marrying structure and suppleness, prolonged by strong, very delicate tannins and an essential tang evocative of citrus fruit. It has huge potential for storage.
